Who We Are

The University of Missouri’s CRP-RCEP exists to build the capacity of community rehabilitation programs in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska to increase community inclusion and integrated employment for persons with disabilities. Strategies to build this capacity include training and education, leadership development, technical consultation, and information sharing.

The “RCEP” in our name stands for Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program. The “CRP” defines our primary customer, the Community Rehabilitation Program. These community-based businesses provide a variety of support services to help people with disabilities achieve employment and independent living in the community. The CRP-RCEP is funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) which is part of the U.S. Department of Education. RSA has divided the country into ten regions. Region 7 - the states where we provide services - include Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa.

The CRP-RCEP uses training, technical consultation, and information sharing to assist community rehabilitation providers in delivering quality employment services for individuals with disabilities.

Training

Training programs are designed to meet the continuing education needs of our customers. The three major categories of training are the Employment Services Program (ES), the Community and Employer Development Program, and the Rehabilitation Management (RM) Program, targeted to supervisors, managers, and administrators. Both the ES and RM Programs offer Certificates of Completion for course attendance and subsequent field assignments. In addition, individual courses are conducted in each state of Region 7. The annual Issues Forum conference is an additional opportunity for education and training in state-of-the-art best practice in the field.

Information Sharing

The CRP-RCEP website is our primary method of sharing information with CRPs in Region 7. We also provide a lending library of instructional videos, books, and training materials
