ACRE Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services
CRP-RCEP, in its continuing efforts to offer community rehabilitation personnel training and support that reflect today’s best practices, has joined with the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) to offer a National Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services. Employment professionals and others in Region 7 will have the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services by completing courses offered through the CRP-RCEP. ACRE has long recognized the need to ensure persons with disabilities receive the best possible support from employment professionals, yet there has not been a nationally recognized set of standards or certification procedure for community-based employment personnel. Therefore, ACRE has established the first nationally recognized Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services.
Staff members from CRP-RCEP at the University of Missouri have worked closely with ACRE and the National APSE - The Network on Employment - to develop a comprehensive list of competencies for the training of employment professionals. The various employment services training programs of the CRP-RCEP are approved and will afford employment professionals and others throughout the region the opportunity to complete the requirements to earn a certificate of achievement.
ACRE has defined national competencies for the training of employment personnel in the following areas:
- Assessment and Career Planning
- Job Development and Marketing
- On the Job Training and Supports
- Benefits Management
- Special populations
- Self-Employment
The application form below explains more about the requirements.

Receiving the National ACRE Certificate in Employment Services - What it means to me:
I have a passion for life-long learning and the continuous improvement of the supports available to people who experience disabilities. I believe that a commitment to improve supports means a commitment to on-going development of staff who provide those supports. The CRP-RCEPs, and specifically the Region 7 CRP-RCEP, have demonstrated time and again that they are on the cutting edge of best practices in the field. To be recognized with a certificate from the ACRE organization is to be recognized by leaders who understand where the field needs to go, and who shine a light in the right direction.
